| PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION |
The Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area's mission includes the support of educational initiatives within our community. With education as one of the foundations of our association, we offer a variety of opportunities and venues for professional development and education that include the following and more:
BUILDER FORUMS: Free educational seminars that preceed our monthly General Membership Meetings. Forums are open to all members and include topics that educate and inform on important current issues.
NAHB UNIVERSITY OF HOUSING COURSES AND DESIGNATIONS
NATIONAL SPEAKERS: National Speakers have been sponsored and brought by the HBAGTA to speak on issues such as Green Building as well as Marketing.
PARTNERSHIP WITH NORTHWESTERN MICHIGAN COLLEGE (NMC): Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Green Building Concepts have been popular course topics at NMC'S M-Tech Center. The development of these and other technology courses have had the financial support of the Home Builders Association. Through the HBAGTA's partnership with NMC's Extended
Education Department, we have successfully helped to produce events featuring nationally recognized speakers on current topics.
WEBINARS: HBAGTA'S partnership with BUILDERRADIO.COM allows us to offer current Sales and Marketing training at an affordable price to our members.
SCHOLARSHIPS: The Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area offers scholarships annually to local students who are pursuing a certificate or degree related to the home building industry.
