The Michigan Association of Home Builders (MAHB) Board of Directors, at their winter meeting in Lansing, approved a resolution to authorize the Senior Officers to seek a negotiated settlement of the Energy Code lawsuit with the state administration. This will be the Associations third attempt to place more efficient, cost effective, energy saving requirements in the Michigan Uniform Energy Code (MUEC). The two previous attempts were rejected by the state administration.
Meanwhile, the injunction, prohibiting state and local building departments from enforcing the administrations' "illegal" energy code, granted by Judge Draganchuk, remains in effect.
