The Future of Green Building: Our Obligation to Environmental Stewardship
The Home Builders Association of Grand Traverse Area, Inc. in partnership with the Traverse Area Chamber of Commerce brings the internationally renowned builder, architectural designer, and pioneer in the green building movement for more than two decades, Ron Jones, founder of and Editorial Director of Green Builder Magazine to the Waterfront Conference Center for an exclusive look at green building and environmental stewardship on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
He has been a dedicated ambassador for the housing industry and for green building to an impressive variety of organizations and agencies including the American Solar Energy Society, Sustainable Building Industry Council, National Arbor Day Foundation, US Green Building Council, National Recycling Association, American Society of Interior Designers, International Erosion Control Association, US Department of Energy, American Institute of Architects, the US Environmental Protective Agency, the Housing Industry Association of Australia, as well as numerous private international companies. In March of 2007, he was selected as Chairman of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Consensus Committee, formed jointly by NAHB and the International Code Council (ICC) to create the National Green Building Standards.
