The Michigan Electrical Code (MEC) Part 8 rules goes into effect November 23d. This only covers multifamily and non-residential work. Builders of these projects should be aware of a change in the grounding requirements (2005 NEC-250.50) and the requirement for the bonding of all present grounding electrodes including concrete encased electrodes (CEE) in footers. You will need to closely coordinate the activities of your concrete sub and your electrician to avoid costly rework to satisfy the new requirements.
